The cost of a sponsorship varies from country to country. Here is a list of the cost of sponsoring a child from each country:

Gambia: £30 per monthp

Syria: £35 per month

Our sponsorships are ongoing and will continue until the Orphan is able to take care of themselves. There are some cases in which an Orphan may move on; this may be due to a family member coming forward to claim guardianship.

Human Aid UK defines an orphan as a child younger than 18 who lives without one or both parents, or who has been forsaken by the parent upon whom they were financially dependent for four years or more.

Orphans may move on as someone may come forward and claim guardianship, at this point we would discontinue the sponsorship. This may result in you being assigned with a new orphan.

We will send you an update throughout the school year on how your sponsored Orphan is performing in their education. We will have a sponsorship portal up and running soon so that you can view the updates on your sponsorship.

Yes, this is possible. Unfortunately, we will not be able to cover travel or accommodation, this will need to be arranged by yourself. However, we will do everything we can to assist you in your journey. Please do contact us if you would like to do so.

We do have an Orphan relief fund to which any donation is appreciated.

Yes, our sponsorship programmes are Zakat eligible. Just select Zakat under Intentions when setting up your sponsorship.

Gift Aid can be claimed on donations of money made by a UK Tax Payer. It’s an easy way to help your Human Aid UK maximise the value of donations. Donating through Gift Aid means charities can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give – this means when you donate £100, it is worth £125 to us. It won’t cost you anything at all. All you need to do is tick the Gift Aid box and we’ll be able claim Gift Aid on your donations. You can find more information on the HMRC website

If you would like to cancel your sponsorship, please get in touch with us to let us know so we can amend our Direct Debit Instructions. Alternatively, you could ask your bank to cancel the Direct Debit for you.

This could be for various reasons, the most commons are usually; your bank has not authorised our mandate for your Direct Debit Instructions, your bank requires a paper mandate to set up the Direct Debit Instructions or insufficient funds available. In any of these cases, please contact us as we would need to setup your sponsorship again.

There are several reasons why your credit or debit may not go through. You should try running the card payment again and re-entering the card details.

Yes, your payments are processed by GoCardless and Stripe both of which use the highest level of encryptions.

Yes, you will get an email confirming your payment along with a reference number should you have any further enquiries.
